...a break in Italy. Casa Elceto is a restored farmhouse set in the rolling hills of Umbria - "the Green Heart of Italy". The farmhouse sits in nine acres of country side and has been restored to the highest standard with traditional materials. Heavy chestnut beams with terracotta tiles gives a traditional and solid feel to the house, while the flagstone floors remains cool in the summer and warm in the autumn and winter due to the full under floor heating. The ground floor is open plan with the large lounge and kitchen connected by a brick archway. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge, range style cooker and dishwasher as well as a range of crockery, glasses, etc. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor and a further shower room on the ground floor, all fully furnished with everything you need for a perfect holiday break.
The stone patio is ideal for alfresco dining as the sun sets over the opposite hills - it's truly magnificent. Elceto is completed by a 12 x 6m infinity edge pool, outside barbeque and wood fired oven to make the most of the peace and tranquillity of Umbria.
Elceto is located near to the ancient hill top village of Castel Rigone a few miles to the North of Lake Trasimeno. Many of Italy's most beautiful towns such as Cortona, Assissi, Siena, etc. are within easy driving distance. The valley below the house, known as the Pian diu Marte, is reputedly close to the site where Hannibal and his Carthaginian Army utterly defeated the roman Legions during the Punic War 217 BC.
